The Unit Circle
Picture
1) Tan 150°= -√3/3
*First fill out your unit circle
*Then look for 150°
*Tan is Y/X
*When dividing you keep the first fraction the same, change the sign to multiplication, and the flip the second fraction
*You have ( -√3/2, 1/2) so you have 1/2 /-√3/2
* So you change it to 1/2  X -2/√3
*After doing the work you get -2√3/2√3
*Remember you cant have a square root on the bottom so to get rid of it you multiply the top and bottom by √3
*You are left with -2√3/(2)(3)
*You multiply the bottom so you get -2√3/6
*You then reduce
*2 goes into -2 once and into 6 three times
*This leaves you with a final answer of -√3/3

2) Cos 20π/6=-1/2
*First fill out the unit circle
*you start from the 0 mark
*you simply use the counting technique discussed in the "how to" section until you get to 20π/6
* you should be at (-1/2,-√3/2)
*remember Cos is the x value
*the x value is -1/2

3.) Tan π=look in answer section under "more"
